In 2010, Disney Parks will celebrate the spirit and power of
volunteerism by giving volunteers free admission to a Disney park
through the 'Give A Day. Get A Disney Day.' program. VCLA is part of
this exciting opportunity and, starting January 1st, volunteers who
sign up for our projects through Disney
Parks are eligible to take part in this exciting
opportunity!
We harness hearts and hands for a better LABecome a member of Volunteer Center of Los Angeles (VCLA) volunteer network and help our communities transform into more healthy and hopeful places to live and work. Our Mission VCLA changes lives and communities by connecting volunteers with community needs to make Los Angeles a safer, greener, healthier, happier, more hopeful place to live. Our Vision VCLA believes that communities are strengthened through the efforts of volunteers. We aim to be LA’s premiere resource on all aspects of volunteerism, serving diverse individuals and families interested in volunteering, corporations seeking to increase workplace volunteerism, and public and nonprofit agencies that need help from volunteers. Our History The Volunteer Center of Los Angeles, (VCLA) is a volunteer management organization founded in 1951 by the Assistance League of Southern California. Nearly 60 years later, VCLA has evolved into a multi-service volunteer management organization. VCLA refers volunteers of all ages to nonprofit, public and governmental organizations to provide assistance with the delivery of important services that support community needs. VCLA is the largest volunteer center in the nation. Assistance League of Southern California (ALSC) is the parent agency of the Volunteer Center of Los Angeles. ALSC is a public service, not for profit 501 (c) (3) organization established in 1919. ALSC provides a broad range of essential social services to people in need within the greater Los Angeles area through a partnership of dedicated volunteers and staff. Copyright
